Unsolved Using NoIndex Tag instead of 410 Gone Code on Discontinued products?
Hello everyone, I am very new to SEO and I wanted to get some input & second opinions on a workaround I am planning to implement on our Shopify store. Any suggestions, thoughts, or insight you have are welcome & appreciated! For those who aren't aware, Shopify as a platform doesn't allow us to send a 410 Gone Code/Error under any circumstance. When you delete or archive a product/page, it becomes unavailable on the storefront. Unfortunately, the only thing Shopify natively allows me to do is set up a 301 redirect. So when we are forced to discontinue a product, customers currently get a 404 error when trying to go to that old URL. My planned workaround is to automatically detect when a product has been discontinued and add the NoIndex meta tag to the product page. The product page will stay up but be unavailable for purchase. I am also adjusting the LD+JSON to list the products availability as Discontinued instead of InStock/OutOfStock.

Then I let the page sit for a few months so that crawlers have a chance to recrawl and remove the page from their indexes. I think that is how that works?
Once 3 or 6 months have passed, I plan on archiving the product followed by setting up a 301 redirect pointing to our internal search results page. The redirect will send the to search with a query aimed towards similar products. That should prevent people with open tabs, bookmarks and direct links to that page from receiving a 404 error. I do have Google Search Console setup and integrated with our site, but manually telling google to remove a page obviously only impacts their index. Will this work the way I think it will?
Will search engines remove the page from their indexes if I add the NoIndex meta tag after they have already been index?
Is there a better way I should implement this? P.S. For those wondering why I am not disallowing the page URL to the Robots.txt, Shopify won't allow me to call collection or product data from within the template that assembles the Robots.txt. So I can't automatically add product URLs to the list.0 -

Google Search Console Showing 404 errors for product pages not in sitemap?
We have some products with url changes over the past several months. Google is showing these as having 404 errors even though they are not in sitemap (sitemap shows the correct NEW url). Is this expected? Will these errors eventually go away/stop being monitored by Google?

Unsolved Held the keywords in my keyword list say "Gethering Metrics" for 12 hours almost!
Hello, I created 10 lists with hope that i will get the results but seems like MOZ is stuck and keeps saying "Gathering Metrics". Does keyword showing up in the body affect page score?
I noticed that when I search for a keyword and look at competitor sites, the keyword shows up in the "Body" under On Page Grader. For some reason, the keyword doesn't show up in the "Body" on Wowhead.com. I'm looking at the url and clearly it is in the body. This might be a technical issue and not showing in the body that MOZ is pointing out. How do we fix this? And will fixing this affect page score? Ecommerce Preferred URL Structure for Printing Website
Hello Mozers! We are adding an ecommerce functionality to our existing website.

Our company offers a wide range of commercial printing and mail services. We have done a pretty good job over the years in building content both in terms of our print offerings and blog section highlighting those offerings. We have finally bit the bullet and have decided to add end-to end ecommerce functionality. Users will be able to price, pay, upload and order thru our website. My question to the community becomes which sub folder do we use?
The ecommerce functionality is a third part software and needs to sit in a sub folder and we can't seem to find a good fit. Most of our content pages for print items are something like this www.website/printing/ - pillar page examples of url structure for sub pages www.website/printing/flyer-printing/

Baffled with Propress
To be frank I have spent 2 years trying to get Propress.com.au on the first page of Google and it just won't happen. I've written articles to get links, checked your platform for page issues and corrected where needed, improved speed of the site and posted articles on the site. But still it sits at about #50. Can you transcribe your youtube video to just google?
YouTube videos have been very effective for us on our site. The only problem is they have taken part of a fair amount of our content so to google our pages may seem to have minimal content. Transcribing each video and including that on the page would take away from the look of the page and clutter it. Ecom: Hreflang start working - anything I can do about SERP currencies?
Hello everyone, Finally, after moving our hreflang tags from our sitemap to our header HTML, Google seems to start displaying the correct URLs in the SERPs. From what I can see - Google folds URLs, so instead of indexing all pages, it only selects an English version of our site but displays a different URL based on our hreflang tags (not sure if that's good or bad or if I should work towards a full indexation). However - I am now facing the issue that the wrong currency will often be displayed in my SERPs. E.g. in Australia I may have Euros or in Canada we see British Pounds (i.e. /en-ca/* URL shows in SERPs but the /en-gb/* URL is actually indexed). Is there any way around this? I was searching for a solution and found some but seems like most don't exist anymore (https://moz.com/community/q/topic/53216/international-seo-ecommerce-rich-snippets/3) at least if I try and dig deeper into the source. What's the current recommendation?

Unsolved Moz API returning incorrect PA data
So I've been attempting to figure out Moz API to allow for batches of URLs to be searched and the data to be nicely put into a google sheet. I've setup the MOZ API for sheets add-on and everything appears to work, but after spot checking some of my data, I've found that for some reason, the page authority data returned by Moz API appears to be way off the actual number presented by other Moz tools, such as the tool bar and main site.

If the data returned is incorrect, how is Moz API useful? Am I missing something? Would love some help or advice, as this tool would be very useful in a functioning state!0 -
Blocking in Robots.txt and the re-indexing - DA effects?
I have two good high level DA sites that target the US (.com) and UK (.co.uk). The .com ranks well but is dormant from a commercial aspect - the .co.uk is the commercial focus and gets great traffic. Issue is the .com ranks for brand in the UK - I want the .co.uk to rank for brand in the UK. I can't 301 the .com as it will be used again in the near future. I want to block the .com in Robots.txt with a view to un-block it again when I need it. I don't think the DA would be affected as the links stay and the sites live (just not indexed) so when I unblock it should be fine - HOWEVER - my query is things like organic CTR data that Google records and other factors won't contribute to its value. Has anyone ever blocked and un-blocked and whats the affects pls? All answers greatly received - cheers GB

I am a bit at my wits end trying to get some acknowledgement from MOZ. Have had no replies, no ticket auto-replies, no updates on any of the messages I have sent via the Moz Help Form on the website. Literally nothing. I wanted to avoid having to post publicly, but does anyone know how to raise a "technical problem" ticket with MOZ? help@moz.com never replies and the Help Form doesn't generate any kind of ticket. From our main office we get an "Access denied" Error (via Cloudflare) specifically for the Moz Community area. This happened to us in February of this year and has been happening again all through May. After testing ourselves with our IT, we determine that MOZ's Cloudflare account has incorrectly blocked the dedicated IP address specific to the internet connection at our head office. This means that none of our Moz User accounts can access anything related to the Community area in our account when working at the studio. We can only do so when working remotely (ie. some other IP address). This is incredibly frustrating, particularly as we've been on a proper paid MOZ account for many years. And I have sent numerous email requests, messages via the Form, etc., and have never heard back from anyone at all. The problem has been on-going for some time and I guess it is my fault because I tried to politely wait a fair amount of time between each follow-up. Only to realize that, actually, I don't think anyone is monitoring help@moz.com or even the Form submissions, or are even looking into the issue for me. Am hoping this message is seen by someone at Moz so they can let me know what is going on please? Guys..... c'mon.....0 -
Redirecting an Entire Website?
Is it best to redirect an old website to a new website page by page to like pages or just the entire site all at once to the home page of the new site? I do have about 10 good pages on the site that are worth directing to corresponding pages on the new site. Just trying to figure out what is going to preserve the most link juice. All of my keywords score a 53 using the on page grader. When I look at the notes it indicates I don't have the keyword in question anywhere on the page which, while true in some cases, is not always factual. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Our main website is geared toward the city where we are located and includes the city name in content page URLs. We also have separate websites for three surrounding cities; these websites have duplicate content except the city name: MainWebsite.com

We have well established Google business locations for all four cities. We will keep all locations, replacing the location website with the main website. Should we remove City-IL from all content page URLs in the new site? We don't want to lose traffic/ranking for City2 or City3 because the content pages have City1 in the URL.
